چکیده
Spectrally selective X-ray imaging provides improved material and tissue discrimination in comparison with the state-of-the-art dual energy technologies that are commonly used medical, industrial, security applications. Cadmium telluride (CdTe)- cadmium zinc (CdZnTe)-based line scanners small size two-dimensional sensors emerging to market, but need for large-scale panels is axiomatic. In this study, a seamless CdTe tile was developed enables implementation of large-sized, detector panels. The consists $64\times64$ pixel array (with $150~\mu \text{m}$ pitch) necessary substrate, ASIC, crystal. performance constructed characterized by focusing on spectral resolution stability. addition, simple trimming method automates equalization each analyzed. obtained results suggest proposed concept (tileable) structures feasible approach scale up panel sizes. shows comparable stability commercial sensors. effect variation, realization panel, as well charge sharing were left out scope be studied next phase.

Photon -counting Reticontm Detector
For applications in faint -object spectroscopy at the Mt. Hopkins Observatory, a photon counting detector has been built using a dual 936 Reticon diode array fibre -optically coupled to a high -gain image intensifier package. The electronic signal processing follows closely the design of Shectman; the diode array is scanned every millisecond, each frame is subtracted from the previous to minimi...
متن کاملMAXIPIX, a fast readout photon-counting X-ray area detector for synchrotron applications
A 2D photon-counting X-ray detector system with 1.4 kHz frame rate and 55 μm spatial resolution has been developed and commissionned on ESRF beamlines. The system called MAXIPIX (Multichip Area X-ray detector based on a photon-counting PIXel array) consists of a detector module implementing up to five MEDIPIX-2 or TIMEPIX photon-counting readout chips, a custom readout interface board and a Lin...
متن کاملX-ray Imaging Using a Hybrid Photon Counting GaAs Pixel Detector
The performance of hybrid GaAs pixel detectors as X-ray imaging sensors were investigated at room temperature. These hybrids consist of 300 μm thick GaAs pixel detectors, flip-chip bonded to a CMOS Single Photon Counting Chip (PCC). This chip consists of a matrix of 64 x 64 identical square pixels (170 μm x 170 μm) and covers a total area of 1.2 cm. The electronics in each cell comprises a prea...
متن کاملEnergy Calibration of a CdTe Photon Counting Spectral Detector with Consideration of its Non-Convergent Behavior
Fast and accurate energy calibration of photon counting spectral detectors (PCSDs) is essential for their biomedical applications to identify and characterize bio-components or contrast agents in tissues. Using the x-ray tube voltage as a reference for energy calibration is known to be an efficient method, but there has been no consideration in the energy calibration of non-convergent behavior ...
متن کاملSpectral Mammography with X-Ray Optics and a Photon-Counting Detector
Early detection is vital to successfully treating breast cancer, and mammography screening is the most efficient and wide-spread method to reach this goal. Imaging low-contrast targets, while minimizing the radiation exposure to a large population is, however, a major challenge. Optimizing the image quality per unit radiation dose is therefore essential. In this thesis, two optimization schemes...
